Professional Ethics Model in Sports Media

Abstract
Introduction: Sports media are one of the most important factors and components of communication in sports; But unfortunately, in some cases, we see that these media are not successful in the field of professional ethics; Therefore, the aim of the present study is to present a comprehensive model of professional ethics in sports media.

Methods: The methodological principles of the data theory foundation of Charms (2006) constructivism approach were observed in this study in relation to the use of literature, recruitment of participants, data collection and analysis, and model presentation. Also, targeted sampling was used to select participants who had the required knowledge of the research field. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The studied community included 23 participants who were fully familiar with the discussion of sports media and professional ethics in the media. Data analysis was done using the process of foundational data theory and constructivist approach, and Nvivo 12 software was used for data management.

Results: The factors identified from the interviews were classified into 9 main categories of personal development program, social expectations, sports media, communication literacy, professional ethics axes, specific professional model of news coverage, human resources, uniqueness of sports and professional ethics characteristics.

Conclusion: The current model acknowledges that senior managers and employees and professionals working in sports media, taking into account the uniqueness of sports and the characteristics of professional ethics, should master communication literacy and finally draw a personal development plan for themselves based on the mentioned steps. to do It was suggested that every sports media should draw a specific news coverage model for itself, taking into account social expectations and professional ethics.
